How to identify pig skin leather/lining??

Here are some tips to find what a pigskin is, what it looks like and where it is used?

Where it is Used?

General Leather Products:Heavily used in Chinese and other developing or under-developing countries.

Shoes & Joggers:Full Leather suede looking Shoes or inner linings.

Jackets:Full Leather suede looking knee long and waist long full sleeve or sleeveless jackets.

Purses:Women and men purses. Full leather or linings.

Brief Cases:Men and Women leather brief cases, usually inner linings are pigskins. But look out for rest of the leather.

Why is it Used?

Price & Availability:Pigskin is cheap and easily available in most countries. It is lighter that real suede made of Cow. Due to low price it is easier to market and sell. It was first used as liners as it is really thin and strong. Soon it was used in most products as profit margins are comparatively high.

How to recognized it?

Mostly, it looks like suede. But it is thinner. It has spots on it. Kind of depressions or little holes that never go through. It seems like some has used spikes to try to pin through it. But these spots are only on one side.

Usually, on the other side of the leather, you will see squeezed round shaped spots. These spots may not be very prominent on this side. If you look very closely at the pictures given, you will have no problem in identifying pigskin. If you are not sure, read labels or ask the store keepers. Do not ask them if these are pigskins. Let them tell you what kind of leather it is. Do not take their words.

Hard to Recognize

Hardest is to recognize the pigskin that is being used for non-suede type leather products. But with a close examination spots and holes can be detected. This type of leather needs much concentration.

As Ted relays the story to his kids, the constants are that their Uncle Marshall, Aunt Lily, Uncle Barney and Aunt Robin are always in the picture and thus have something to do with how he got together with their mother.

New PS3 Slim

Sony will launch a smaller, lighter version of its PlayStation 3 console with a slightly lower price tag. The Japanese-based tech giant will sell two versions of the PS3: a 250GB model for $269 starting September 25 and a 500GB version for $299 on October 30.European consumers will have a third option: a PS3 with 12GB of flash memory but has not indicated whether this model would be available outside of Euro.

The $269 model will be sold as a limited edition bundle packaging the PS3 action title Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and a voucher for $30 worth of digital content for online game Dust 514. The 500GB model will launch as a standalone device and a bundle that includes a copy of Ubisoft action game Assassin's Creed III.

Sony says the new console is less than half the size of the original, chunkier PS3 models launched in 2006, and roughly 20%-25% slimmer than current models unveiled three years ago.The announcement of revamped consoles is Sony's latest attempt to push sales of the PS3, which continues to battle rival Microsoft and its Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. Sony will also compete with a brand new console, the Nintendo Wii U, starting this November.

Sony also announced its PS3 subscription service PlayStation Plus will be available to owners of its Vita handheld gaming system starting this November.

What is twisted wire??

Twisted pair cabling is a type of wiring in which two conductors of a single circuit are twisted together for the purposes of canceling out electromagnetic interference (EMI) from external sources, for instance, electromagnetic radiation from unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables, and crosstalk between neighboring pairs. It was invented by Alexander Graham Bell.

Disadvantages

• Twisted pair’s susceptibility to electromagnetic interference greatly depends on the pair twisting schemes (usually patented by the manufacturers) staying intact during the installation. As a result, twisted pair cables usually have stringent requirements for maximum pulling tension as well as minimum bend radius. This relative fragility of twisted pair cables makes the installation practices an important part of ensuring the cable’s performance.
• In video applications that send information across multiple parallel signal wires, twisted pair cabling can introduce signaling delays known as skew which results in subtle color defects and ghosting due to the image components not aligning correctly when recombined in the display device. The skew occurs because twisted pairs within the same cable often use a different number of twists per meter so as to prevent crosstalk between pairs with identical numbers of twists. The skew can be compensated by varying the length of pairs in the termination box, so as to introduce delay lines that take up the slack between shorter and longer pairs, though the precise lengths required are difficult to calculate and vary depending on the overall cable length.
